Yahoo! buys Zimbra
Michael Arrington of TechCrunch is reporting that Yahoo! has paid $350 million to purchase Zimbra. The official announcement isn't expected until this evening, but Arrington's in a pretty good position to pick up gossip today. When I was introduced to Zimbra just weeks ago, I thought to myself, "My gosh, Yahoo! needs to pick this up." Lo and behold, that's just what they did. There's a bunch of goodies in the Zimbra platform that would embellish the existing email and PIM properties at Yahoo!. Good thinking on their part.
The bad news is we now have to wait and wait and wait while they meld it into the Yahoo! properties. I have no patience for due diligence.
